Foundations in Sounds
Is Your Child Struggling to Sound Out Words?
If your child has tried other reading programs but still isn't ready, the problem might not be effort. It might be that their ears haven't yet learned how to work with sounds.
Foundation in Sounds™ is a one-on-one pre-reading program that builds the listening skills your child needs before they can succeed in Orton-Gillingham based programs like Barton. If your child struggled with or couldn't pass a reading readiness screening, this program closes that gap.

Built for Kids Who Need a Little Extra Foundation
Some children need more than practice. They need their brains trained to hear, remember, and sequence sounds correctly first. Foundation in Sounds™ works with students of all ages to strengthen three core skills:
-
Hear it – tell sounds apart
-
Retain it – remember what they heard
-
Sequence it – recall sounds in the right order
These are the building blocks of phonemic awareness, and phonemic awareness is what makes reading finally click.
A Clear Path Forward, One Lesson at a Time
Foundation in Sounds™ is broken into 12 structured, multisensory lessons. Each one builds on the last, so your child moves forward with confidence instead of getting stuck. By the end, most students are ready to pass their Barton screening and move into full reading instruction.
You'll get progress updates along the way, so you always know how your child is doing.
